This website is dedicated to “The Not Doing”, my English translation (1984) of a book by Itsuo Tsuda who taught about “ki” through Aikido and Seitai in Paris and elsewhere in Europe in the 1970s and 80s until his passing in 1984.

Itsuo Tsuda, a student of Seitai founder Haruchika Noguchi and of Aikido founder Morihei Ueshiba, opened his dojo, L’ecole de la Respiration, in Paris, France and taught about “ki” in general in Europe in the 1970s and 80s, and published his first book, “Le Non-Faire” in 1973. Tsuda went on to publish 8 more books. The first English translation (done by yours truly) of his first book “Le Non-Faire”, “The Not Doing”, was published in 1984. Tsuda passed away the same year.

Who am I (and who/what I am not)? And why did I create this website?

I’ll be posting on the blog some of my pesonal stories related to Seitai, Aikido, Tsuda, etc., with links to some sample chapters from “The Not Doing” as well as some of my translations of chapters of other books Tsuda wrote as and when I get around to re-typing them (most are still on type-written pages, which tells you how long ago I translated them…)

You can read the Foreword to “The Not Doing” here.
